January 24-28, 2022 PARAPROFESSIONAL WEEK!

It is Paraprofessional Recognition Week by proclamation of Governor Walz! Special Thank You to all of the K-W Paraprofessionals for all your hard work! You are the building blocks to learning for so many children!

Alex Vold       Rachel Nesseth

Alex Vold and Rachel Nesseth, K-W High School seniors, were selected locally to represent Kenyon-Wanamingo High School in the Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award program.  Established in 1988, the Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award (Triple ‘A’ Award) is sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League. The award goes to high school seniors who have a “B” or better grade point average and who participate in League-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities.  Congratulations to Alex and Rachel on being nominated for this Award! A special congratulations to Rachel Nesseth as she was also recognized as the Sub-Region 4 Triple ‘A’ selection!

PEBT is back for the 2021-2022 school year

K-W families need to have a completed application for educational benefits current for this school year on file in the district office in order to be eligible for this program. Minnesota families who rely on free and reduced-price school lunch programs will soon get extra help to cover food costs when COVID-19 keeps their children home from school. In January, a first round of Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer food benefits will go to families whose children have to stay home because of quarantines or COVID -19 impacts. The U.S. Department of Agriculture set the daily P-EBT benefit of $7.10 for the current school year. Parents should check to make sure they are receiving P-EBT texts or emails and that their school has their correct contact information. DHS anticipates tentatively issuing P-EBT benefits for meals missed due to COVID in February, April and June. For questions about P-EBT: Contact the P-EBT Call Center at 651-431-4608 or 833-454-0153, complete the P-EBT Help Form, or visit for frequently asked questions.
