K-W 7-12 Students, Staff, Parents and Community Members,
K-W High School will transition to an In-Person Learning Model for grades 9-12 beginning on Monday, March 1, 2021. Local and county COVID-19 case rate data continues to trend in a favorable direction. All 9-12 students, with the exception of Family Flex students, will be in-person on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Wednesdays will remain a virtual day with the shortened schedule. All students who were in a Hybrid Learning Group will be in-person beginning next Monday. Students who were in a Family Flex Model would continue as Family Flex. Any students wishing to make a change from Family Flex to In-Person or the opposite should contact the High School Office to indicate that change. We will accommodate these requests as quickly as possible.
Below is a schedule for next week. The factors used to make Learning Model decisions will continue to be closely monitored. If a change is necessary to a more restrictive model that information will be communicated with students and families as soon as decisions are made. The transition to a 4-day per week In-Person Model is intended to not only move forward in a way that is safe for students and staff as related to COVID-19, but also balanced with the educational, mental, social, emotional, and physical well-being of everyone as well!

Pandemic-EBT Benefits for Families
2/10/21 UPDATED P-EBT INFORMATION
Students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals may be eligible for Pandemic-Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) to purchase food for days they are not in the school building. To be considered, households must submit an application for free or reduced-price meals for the 2020-21 school year or be approved for Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. Families who received P-EBT benefits last summer are not automatically eligible; eligibility is based on the current school year. Benefits may be retroactive to September 2020, depending on when eligibility for free or reduced-price meals is determined. To ensure you qualify for the most benefits, please submit your (Click here:) APPLICATION as soon as possible. Questions? Call 507-789-7001. Families with completed applications for educational benefits will automatically be sent the P-EBT cards.
Screening
We need your help! I know you have heard this from us a lot, but screening your child for symptoms before they come to school and keeping them home when they are sick or have symptoms will be the biggest key to keeping everyone healthy in our buildings and keeping us in the in-person model for a longer period of time.
Visit this MDH link for more screening details: https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/coronavirus/schools/homescreen.pdf
